Dog Owners: Pick Up After Your Pets
Dog waste is being left across Oak Ridges, creating health risks, attracting pests, and making parks, trails, and sidewalks unpleasant for everyone. Winter only hides the problem until thaw, forcing city crews to clean up instead of maintaining infrastructure. Owners must carry bags, pick up waste immediately, and use the 172 bins available in parks and trails. Respect neighbours and shared spaces, always clean up after your dog.

Keeping school zones safe protects kids, families, and neighbours. Slow down, avoid illegal turns, and park legally so sightlines stay clear. Cross at crosswalks and avoid jaywalking. Respect nearby homes by not blocking driveways and using designated drop off areas. Bylaw officers and York Regional Police patrol regularly. Let’s all do our part to create calmer, safer streets for everyone every day.
