Richmond Hill saw declines in key everyday crimes like fraud, break‑ins, mischief, assaults and theft under $5,000, with only small increases elsewhere. York Region showed a more mixed pattern, with some rises such as impaired driving and arson. Overall, Richmond Hill had a quieter week, especially for property crime. Ongoing police patrols and resident vigilance help sustain these positive trends.

Dog Owners: Pick Up After Your Pets
Dog waste is being left across Oak Ridges, creating health risks, attracting pests, and making parks, trails, and sidewalks unpleasant for everyone. Winter only hides the problem until thaw, forcing city crews to clean up instead of maintaining infrastructure. Owners must carry bags, pick up waste immediately, and use the 172 bins available in parks and trails. Respect neighbours and shared spaces, always clean up after your dog.
