Oak Ridges Smell is Gone!
York Region has confirmed that the Air Management Facility is now connected to the trunk sewer and actively treating foul air. Testing is underway to ensure long-term safety and performance. Residents near Yonge Street and North Lake Road can be reassured the system is working. After years of advocacy, I’m pleased to report a noticeable improvement, I’ve personally observed that the smell is finally gone.

Mayor David West's 2025 State of the City Address
Richmond Hill is growing strong, together. Mayor West’s State of the City address highlighted major strides in safety (crime down significantly), housing (1,300+ new seniors units, faster approvals), and transit (Yonge North Subway Extension underway). The city is also investing in parks, local jobs, and essential services. Despite challenges, Richmond Hill remains resilient, inclusive, and focused on building a thriving future for all.

Protecting Our Turtles: Nest Box Pilot Program Comes to Lake Wilcox
We’re excited to partner with Oak Ridges Turtles and Turtle Guardians on a pilot Turtle Nest Box Program at Channel Gate Parkette, Lake Wilcox Channel, and North Lake Road. 🐢 These 2’x2’ wooden nest boxes with wire mesh help protect eggs from predators like raccoons, giving hatchlings a better chance to survive. Boxes will be removed once the turtles emerge in late summer, fall, or spring. A small step with a big impact for local wildlife! 🌱💚

Motion - Councillor Davidson - Support for Provincial Action on Salt Pollution from Road Salt

Despite past efforts, salt levels continue to rise, harming drinking water and aquatic life. Councillor Davidson's motion urges Ontario to enact limited liability legislation, enforceable contractor training, and standard salt use practices—and commits to further reducing road salt use while ensuring public safety.
