About Carol

Carol has an MA in Journalism from Western University and a Hons. BA, in Political Science from the University of Waterloo. She was a journalist and manager with CTV News for over 25 years. She has also worked as an academic researcher focusing on Internet security, disinformation, and social media manipulation. 


Carol also ran a small communication business and contracted work at Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada. In addition, she co-founded the Council Accountability Group in 2019, a grassroots community organization that aimed to improve residents’ understanding of municipal government work.  


Carol and her husband, Gilles, have lived in Oak Ridges for over 23 years, where they raised their three children. Carol strongly believes in a transparent, accessible government. She is looking forward to serving the residents of Oak Ridges to the best of her ability.
