Q3 2025 Housing Report Card: Starts, Sales, and Employment
Researchers from the University of Ottawa’s Missing Middle Initiative, commissioned by RESCON, report Q3 housing trends across 34 GTA/GGH municipalities. Starts fell 34% vs. 2021–24, with condos down 51% and ground-oriented homes down 43%, though rentals rose 42%. Richmond Hill bucks the trend with more builds and jobs, yet weak sales and no rental growth leave it short of targets, earning a C grade.
