Tiny Tunnels for Protecting the Endangered Jefferson Salamanders
Upcoming Road Closure – Stouffville Road (Bayview to Leslie)
Stouffville Road will be closed between Bayview Ave. and Leslie St. from July 2–4, 2025, for the installation of wildlife tunnels to protect endangered Jefferson Salamanders. These permanent tunnels support species recovery and reduce future road closures. Emergency and local access will be maintained; through traffic is not permitted. Signs will guide drivers. Dates may change due to weather.

Biggest drops: Theft Under $5000 (-24), Assaults (-21), Fraud (-12), Theft of Motor Vehicle (-9).
Minor increases: Other Property Crime (+5), Attempt Murder (+1).
No change in many categories like Homicide, Arson, and Sexual Violations.
Notable: Break & Enter (Residential ↓5, Commercial ↓2).
General trend: Crime is decreasing across most areas.
