Council Public Meeting - Proposed Development at Yonge & Elm Grove - Sept. 15 2026
Council Public Meeting - September 15, 2026
A development application has been submitted for the northwest corner of Yonge Street and Elm Grove Avenue.

The proposal includes:
a 10-storey apartment building with 287 units
64 stacked townhouse units
ground-floor retail
The application is asking for several changes to the City’s Official Plan and zoning, including 10 storeys where 8 are currently permitted and increases in density. City Planning staff have also identified concerns with the proposed height, density and building design.
I believe new development should respect the planning rules and policies that are already in place, and I have concerns when applications seek significant exceptions without strong justification.
The application will be discussed at the September 15 Council Public Meeting. No final decision will be made that night.
If you have concerns about height, density, traffic, parking or neighbourhood impact, I encourage you to send written comments to clerks@richmondhill.ca, referencing agenda item 4.1, or speak at the meeting.
Your input matters, and I want to make sure Oak Ridges residents are heard.
