

Update: Oak Ridges Smell - Air Management Facility
York Region has made great progress in getting the new facility up and running, after setbacks with some equipment. Thanks to the hard work of staff, contractors, and vendors, they’ve solved the equipment issues, and they’re on track to begin a 14-day trial run in mid-September.

Installation of Traffic Calming Measures: Red Cardinal Trail
Please be advised that the City will be installing traffic calming measures on select streets to enhance safety for all road users. These measures are based on public input, resident feedback, engineering judgement, and technical analysis in line with the Council-approved Traffic Safety and Operations Strategy. Installation is planned for the 2025 construction season, weather permitting.

Motion - Councillor Davidson - Support for Provincial Action on Salt Pollution from Road Salt
Road salt pollution is damaging Ontario’s freshwater and ecosystems, especially around Lake Wilcox and the Oak Ridges Moraine. Despite past efforts, salt levels continue to rise, harming drinking water and aquatic life. Councillor Davidson's motion urges Ontario to enact limited liability legislation, enforceable contractor training, and standard salt use practices—and commits to further reducing road salt use while ensuring public safety.
