Approval to submit funding applications for sewer upgrades and tennis court improvements. Speed limits reductions and new parking rules proposed. Council endorsement for the York Region Food Charter to support local food access. Approval of heritage designations for six culturally significant properties.

Budget Committee of the Whole - June 24
Richmond Hill’s 2024 financial reports highlight strong reserve growth, reaching $479.85M, supporting infrastructure, services, and emergencies. Key changes include new housing grant reserves, cannabis fund closure, and internal financing for $22.1M in stormwater upgrades. Development charges brought in $34.53M, while fees for 2026 are set to rise 2% to align with inflation. These actions reflect sound planning, financial stability, and readiness for future growth.

Tiny Tunnels for Protecting the Endangered Jefferson Salamanders
Upcoming Road Closure – Stouffville Road (Bayview to Leslie)
Stouffville Road will be closed between Bayview Ave. and Leslie St. from July 2–4, 2025, for the installation of wildlife tunnels to protect endangered Jefferson Salamanders. These permanent tunnels support species recovery and reduce future road closures. Emergency and local access will be maintained; through traffic is not permitted. Signs will guide drivers. Dates may change due to weather.
