All agenda items carried and are going forward to the council meeting next week.
This was a longer meeting than usual as there were a number of delegations and much discussion by council about the two Official Plan Amendments (OPA). For both OPAs there were concerns raised particularly about building heights, density and parking. Both OPA items will come before council next week on November 8th for final approval.
The OPAs implement provincial and regional policy directions regarding complete communities and represents a city-building approach to
intensification in key strategic growth areas of the City. Adoption of the OPAs will
help guide development in these important centres.
