Carol Davidson has proudly called Oak Ridges home for over 23 years. A seasoned journalist and researcher, she brings sharp insight into local affairs and serves as a strong, informed voice at City Hall. Her commitment to thoughtful development, public safety, and meaningful community engagement reflects her dedication to helping Oak Ridges thrive.
Carol holds a Master’s degree in Journalism from Western University and an Honours BA in Political Science from the University of Waterloo. She spent more than 25 years with CTV News as a journalist and manager, and later worked as an academic researcher specializing in Internet security, disinformation, and social media manipulation.
Beyond journalism, Carol ran a small communications business and contributed to federal initiatives through contract work with Indigenous and Northern Affairs Canada and Environment and Climate Change Canada. In 2019, she co-founded the Council Accountability Group, a grassroots organization focused on improving public understanding of municipal governance.
Carol and her husband, Gilles, raised their three children in Oak Ridges and remain deeply rooted in the community. She is a firm believer in transparent, accessible government and serves Oak Ridges residents with integrity and dedication.
