    Council public Meeting Tuesday November 21, 2023 at 7:30pm >> Revised Meeting Agenda >> Meeting Minutes >> Watch Meeting video On the Agenda: Request for Comments - Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment Applications - Collecdev (8868 Yonge) LP - 8868 Yonge Street The City recently received Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendment applications to permit a 14 storey residential building. The applications seek to amend existing permissions, as approved by the OMB in 2016, for an 8 storey retirement building on the subject lands. The applications and supporting materials were circulated to relevant City departments and external agencies for review and comment. Staff are seeking feedback from Council and the public on the proposed applications pursuant to the requirements of the Planning Act. Staff will work with the applicant to consider the comments received and will complete a detailed review of the proposed applications in advance of a recommendation report to be prepared for a future Council meeting. Public Comments: The public may submit written correspondence regarding agenda matters by email to clerks@richmondhill.ca. Written correspondence must be submitted by 12 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Comments submitted will be provided to all Members of Council, considered as public information and noted in the public record. Delegations: No prior registration is required to make an in-person Delegation, but is encouraged. Prior registration is required should the public intend to make an electronic delegation by video conference or telephone. Applications to appear as a delegation must be submitted by 12 p.m. on the day of the meeting by email to clerks@richmondhill.ca or by using the on-line application form found on Richmondhill.ca.   • It's Open! North Shore Parkette Expansion

    The fences are finally gone and the parkette is open! The North Shore Parkette expansion is a natural area with a great view of Lake Wilcox. Walk on over! Plans are underway for the expansion and opening of North Shore Parkette. This includes site cleanup, wood chip walkways, armourstone boulder placement, and no-mow zones. This was a longer meeting than usual as there were a number of delegations and much discussion by council about the two Official Plan Amendments (OPA). For both OPAs there were concerns raised particularly about building heights, density and parking. Both OPA items will come before council next week on November 8th for final approval. The OPAs implement provincial and regional policy directions regarding complete communities and represents a city-building approach to intensification in key strategic growth areas of the City.   • How to report a streetlight issue

    Help keep Richmond Hill's community safe by reporting streetlight issues. The Public Works Division will address the issue as soon as possible. Reporting a streetlight issue is easy with the online reporting system. Let Public Works know where the streetlight is located by entering an address, street intersection or Pole ID number. You can also select a location on the map provided. Alternatively, you can contact Access Richmond Hill at 905-771-8800 or access@richmondhill.ca to report streetlight issues.

Regarding the Housing Accelerator Fund staff has been directed to propose an amendment to the City’s Official Plan and Zoning By-Law to allow up to four (4) storeys “as-of-right” within an MTSA along the Yonge Street and Highway 7 priority transit corridors where there is a mixed-use centre or corridor designation in the Official Plan with permissions for building heights of 3 storeys or greater. Council also directed staff to conduct community and stakeholder consultation and assessment of impacts to infrastructure capacity as part of this work to obtain feedback prior to making a recommendation to Council.
