    The City is undertaking the detailed design for the reconstruction of Schomberg Road and Aubrey Avenue. City staff and consultants will be in your area to undertake field investigations. In order to complete the data collection, City consultants may need to briefly enter upon your property to locate existing features. This action is necessary to ensure that all ground surface details are accurately identified for the design. The City is seeking information from the homeowners on any known locations of private sump pump and/or storm drain outlets. Please kindly fill out the Sump Pump Questionnaire and return it to the City by Friday, March 22, 2024.

  • Notice of Study Completion: Schomberg Road Culverts Environmental Assessment

    The City of Richmond Hill has completed a study to determine the best way to rehabilitate the culverts under Schomberg Road and improve river and wetland conditions in the area. The preferred solution includes the following: Replacement of the twin 3 metre diameter corrugated metal pipe culverts with twin 4.5 metre concrete culverts. Minor grading works to direct low water flows to the south culvert and have the north culvert be used for higher flows to minimize sediment build up. Once approved, construction will take place at the same time as the Schomberg Road reconstruction. Detailed design of that project is scheduled to take place in 2024.

  • Design Notice to Residents Elm Grove Avenue Reconstruction

    The City’s consultant (CIMA Canada Inc.) and subconsultant (Drone Services Canada Inc.) will be on site in December 2023/January 2024 (weather dependent) to conduct a drone survey of the area between Blyth Street and Gallacher Avenue, as indicated in the map. The purpose of the drone survey is to gather existing site grading information and confirm the existing swale condition within the City’s easement. Access to private properties will not be required for the drone survey.

In addition, the average residential property owner will see an increase on their tax bill of approximately $30.42 attributed to the Capital Asset Sustainability Levy.
